    You can choose what happens on clicking an image right in the Add Media dialog: select whether the image is linked to the attachment post (opens another page with bigger image), the image file (opens the image directly in the original size) or none.

    Hi Andrew,

    Yes, it is true, but the catch is that your plugin and specially image icon is very handy for adding pictures that are not in a media pool.

    (just by linking the url of the picture)

    so, it would be really nice to have this option inside the image icon and not only in a media pool.

    Ah, I see what you mean ?? Not sure if that can be added to the default TinyMCE image dialog. However there are WP plugins that would do this automatically (open the image in a modal popup), maybe check some of them.

    Alternatively after adding an image, select it and add a link. That way the image can be linked to … anywhere.
