Drop-down menu compability issues on mobile devices

  • I made a WordPress site using The Reddle Theme as theme. I had one nice row of options in the drop down menu on the top of the page when I viewed it on my computer, but when I view it on my smartphone or in smartphone preview on the customization page it’s three rows of options and it didn’t look good. (The tablet preview also differ, but my current design works in one row on tablets, like it’s supposed to, but if I add any more menu options a second row will appear there as well.)
    Anyway, I was hoping that someone of the WordPress staff could modify the theme so that the drop down menus look the same on all three types of devices (computers, tablets and smartphones).

    I hope my description wasn’t too unclear and complicated.

  • I tested the menu on the Reddle theme demo site at https://reddledemo.wordpress.com/ and I see how the menu gets pushed to three lines on mobile.

    The Reddle theme lets long menu items get listed on multiple lines by design. If you were to squish the menu down too much, then it wouldn’t be readable any more.

    I think your best option is to keep the larger menu even if it takes up a little more space on mobile.
