• Been reading about how to upload pdf files and can do so via Add Media.

Issue is: Word file I’d like to replace with a PDF file has macros enabled so user can fill in form online, save and return to complete and/or print.

PDF file loads beautifully, but retains none of that functionality.

Is there any way to make the uploaded PDF fill-in-able? Or do I have to just stick with the awkward user experience of the macro Word doc until we can afford programming for it?

My suspicion is that, given the PDF is uploaded as media, it probably is an image file without any ability to add to it by a user. Wanted to check with WordPress experts here to be sure before giving up!

    Thanks for any advice,

    Linda

I believe it is possible to so this if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. It has nothing to do with the way in which WordPress uploads the file.

Thanks, esmi. That makes sense. Will check out Adobe Acrobat. I know I haven’t purchased it – they’re products are very expensive!

As an aside, have realized over the past several months that forms are not simple – at least not if you want them to be fill-in-able and save-able online as well as printable when you’re done! The Word macros currently on the site work, but aren’t very user friendly because of the “scary” macros warning!

Appreciate your super fast response to my question!

    Thanks,

    Linda
