• Is there a way I can create a “Commentator” Role for a class of people who would have the power to do one thing and only one thing — leave comments. Otherwise comments would be turned off or rejected for everyone else.

I saw mention of an add-in called Role Manager, but I haven’t found any instructions on how to use or install it or whether it would address my need.

    Thank you,
    Challen

  • Hmm. Since that would mean anyway to force the “commenters” to log in… why not just set your blog to require to log in in order to comment?

    The Role Manager is here:
    https://redalt.com/Resources/Plugins/Role+Manager
You install it as any other plugin.

    Moshu,

I suppose that might work, but what about the rest of the world who might register? Is there a way to limit registration to certain people? I suppose I could manually register team members and delete the “register” link on the blog.

I just went back into the Dashboard and see that I can “uncheck” the option for “anyone can register” to remove registration from the blog. Then manually register the people I want from Dashboard and they would have comment rights.

    Does that sound workable?

    Thanks,
    Challen
