thumbnail issue

WordPress was recently updated to 3.7 (updated to 3.9) and I am having an issue with the thumbnails. Not making thumbnails, only scaling the original image on category, product and other pages. A particular issue in the sidebar recent products as large image pushing everything out of shape. Please help!
