• Hi,

I’ve just switched to a new theme on my site theoriginalsociety.com and my new theme automatically inserts the post’s featured image at the top of the post. For my blog, we had always already inserted the image at the top of the posts, so now the image is doubled at the top of all posts. We have 1,000 posts, so going through and manually removing the images seems unrealistic. Does anybody know of a way I can find all the posts that begin with an image in the first line(s) and remove those images in bulk?

    Thanks.

  • Hi:

You might want to look into a different approach to resolving this. If you create a child theme you could modify the appropriate template page so that if the post’s publish date is prior to the date you moved to the new theme it does not show the featured image. And if it is newer it does show the featured image.

This would solve your problem without having to update 1000 different posts.
