WordPress, iPage & Namecheap

  • Hi all,

    I recently bought a domain in Namecheap and hosting in iPage. As instructed, I changed the servers of my domain in NC to the servers provided by iPage. I installed WordPress after. I didn’t work right away, prolly because the transfer wasn’t complete yet. After 30-60 mins, I came back to install WordPress and it successfully got installed. So I logged in. It worked at first, I was already on my way to choosing themes. However, after a few minutes, I looked at my website and it goes back to the Namecheap dashboard again. even if I go to the admin login page of WP it’ll still go back. Before this I was seeing the “site under construction” page.

    What do you think is the problem? Help please.

  • It can take up to 72 hours for domain name changes to fully propagate.

    Thanks for the reply. How do I know if the changes have propagated fully? I can now login to my wordpress dashboard and I have already installed my theme, but I can’t see it. I’m seeing this site is under development again.

    @bananaparadise: have you tried deleting the home.html or index.html page in your root directory?
    I think this should do the trick!
