I am running wordpress 2.0.5 on a blog at https://www.drownradio.com
I am having problems accessing the options-general.php and moderation.php. The files exist in the directory and they are the right chmod and everything, but when I click them in the wordpress dashboard I just get a blank screen, it’s not trying to load, it’s not erroring, just a blank screen. Same thing occures in firefox, ie, and opera. What exactly can I do to fix it? Can I just take those files from a functioning wordpress installation? Should I reinstall 2.0.5? Any help would be appreciated.

    Bump. Nothing? Pretty please.

    Did they work earlier?
Did you do anything “special” before they stopped working? New plugin?
If not, did your host perform an upgrade of software/hardware?

They worked when I first did the install, but that was in a subdirectory, then I moved it to the root directory. I want to say that they did work after the move to the root directory, but I can’t state that as a fact. I have also installed some plugins, but I can’t say with athority if the pages were working before or after one of the plugins.

In this case first I’d check that all the files “survived” the move; eventually, even uploading a new copy for those that don’t want to function.
Then, you may want to try to deactivate the plugins, check if the blog works, and add them back one by one and always checking which one kills those pages.

From time to time there were reports about blank pages, you may want to search the forum for those and see other solutions, too.

Sorry for not being able to give you more specific help.

Thanks Moshu, that’s kind of what I was looking for. You think that I can just replace the files with ones that I know work from a different installation, right? Or should I replace the files with ones I download with a fresh installation of wordpress?

You can try either. If you upload files of the same version you can always replace files from a fresh download or from a working install.
