Scrolling creates a gap

I just started using the plugin. Is there a setting I am missing about the scroll feature. I have the bar stuck to the top of the page and when I scroll down, the space where the bar is placed is maintained and the nav bar sort of floats. Is there a trick to improving this rendering?
