Eliminate most recent post from home page

Hi-

I’d like a completely static home page with only the deader image and three feature images linking to internal pages. Problem is, I can’t figure out how to eliminate the widget that brings the most recent page forward to the home page bottom.

Unfortunately, one cannot go to settings > reading and change the blog post number to 0. it appears that 1 is the minimal number it will accept.

I would appreciate a solution from anyone who may know one.
