  • It looks like comments might be turned off at https://ourpeacefulplanet.com/2014/04/25/motivational-wall-collage-tutorial/ where the sidebar is placed correctly.

And comments are on at https://ourpeacefulplanet.com/2014/04/08/treadmill-nook/ where the sidebar is falling.

I also noticed the HTML structure in the 1st example https://cloudup.com/iBPLlK2PKkI is different than the structure in the 2nd example https://cloudup.com/iI7mYcIlQPR

See how the #sidebar div is inside #content in the 2nd example but on the same level in the 1st example? I’m not sure why the difference is happening. As a very basic test, you can try turning off comments at https://ourpeacefulplanet.com/2014/04/08/treadmill-nook/ to see if that fixes the problem for just that post. If it does, you’ll need to figure out why the HTML structure is getting output differently for those two cases.

Have you made modifications to the theme files directly that could be causing the trouble?

It could be that the code for the Inlinks at the bottom of the post is inserted wrong. That’s where I would check first.

Yes I’ve tweaked the theme to no end. But its been fine up until today however I didn’t notice what I did that caused it. I tried to retrace my steps and put things back that I had changed but to no avail. I don’t understand what would make the sidebar do that on 62 posts yet not the most recent post.

I also just noticed I lost my “toolbar” on all the pages though its set to show. I’ve also uninstalled a couple plugins I had added today. Still not working.

I appreciate the input… I’ll check a couple things that were suggested and report back.

It’s indeed the comments! They were accidentally turned off the one post that is working.

Now I need to figure out why they started doing this today. I’ve not touched anything to do with comments that I know of. And I do need them to show. Thank you designsimply for catching that!

Is it possible there is come tag issues surrounding the comment area? I’m just not knowledgeable enough to locate which file that might be.

it might be that some of the closing div tags in the comments code are within some conditional statements which are only triggered depending on the comments’ status.

if you haven’t touced the comments code, you might need to contact the theme’s developer for support.

or try to install an unedited version of comments.php of your theme (?) – make a backup of your theme first.

I reinstalled the comments.php code and still no luck. Appreciate the further input. I’ll try and contact the theme support and see if I have any luck there.

I fixed it! It was a header.php issue. I was not sure what was the exact problem but I simply copied my original header file code and pasted it in my current one and uploaded. Fixed!
