Facebook Likes were reset to 0

  • I have got similar issue as above and here is what could have caused it.

    Yesterday my Facebook likes reset to 0 for 99% of the posts. Had a look in developer mode and it’s showing as 0 stories published from my app. My FB App id is 492665330768550.

    Many of the posts on my website https://www.SInghSTation.net had more than few hundreds likes so this is very shocking for me.

    Facebook and other Social Networks associate sharing counts to URLs. If you change your site’s permalink structure, or start using a different domain, your post URLs will change, and Facebook will start counting shares from scratch on that page.

    I’m afraid there is no way to work around this problem, short of sticking to your permalink structure if you want to keep your old sharing counts.
