    I’ve just started to build my website, as a complete novice with NO coding knowledge and after much investigation have chosen Virtue as really liked the options for customisation and ease of use (sic)

    It’s a complete work in progress at the moment:

    https://fbd.512.myftpupload.com/

    However, the primary menu/navigation isn’t working or picking up the pages I’ve set up (and the sub-pages) beneath those. Where on other themes this was working. I wondered if there was something I’m not doing right to get this set up?

    Also how do I remove the word ‘Home’ off the front page which seems to be used as the title to the page, which I don’t want on the front page?

    Really appreciate you help if you can.

  • 1. You need to assign a menu to the menu location, appearance > menus page.

    2. In the theme options > home layout. Move “page title” to disabled.

    Thanks for that, I’ll see if that works, IN have unchecked the page tilte which is great but thought I had already tried and linked to the correct menu on the menus page, but I’ll try again.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

    Hi there again. Am still having trouble getting the primary menu up and running. Have created a new menu in appearance > menu with the four top-level pages assigned to it: Home/Services/About Us/Contact Us.

    Have then saved this and assigned it to the primary navigation theme location and saved this again. But still when I refresh the home page there is sill no primary menu showing with these four buttons.

    Not sure what I’m not seeing here in terms of getting it up and running.

    Looking at you link I see a menu, did you figure this out?

    No certainly haven’t sorted it out sadly. I have no idea, though coudd try and work it out how I managed to create that call to action/menu button on the profile. I said I was a novice ??

    All I want is the primary menu to show up at the top of page to the right of the logo etc with links to the other pages I’ve sent up as sub-pages, but nothing I do in Appearance > Menus seems to work in terms of creating a menu, identifying which pages to link to it and then assigning it to the Primary Navigation theme location. Something’s not working correctly somewhere and at the moment it’s beyond me to find out where. I’ll have to see if I can find a friendly geek close to home who can help identfy the issue.

    When I view this link: https://fbd.512.myftpupload.com/

    There is a menu, have you tried clearing your cache? Are you on a small screen? in that case you need to set a mobile menu.

    Wahey and there it is!! Great at least that’s up and running, thank you for your help ??

    Though the drop down menus seem to fade out the right side of the screen, which is full size 19″…so are hard to read. Is there any way of rectifying this by say either:

    ‘Shifting’ the position of the Primary Navigation menu to the left some, or getting the sub-menus to open on the left rather than the right as they drop down?

    moving to open on the left can be really awkward, try adding this to your custom css box, in the theme options > advanced settings:

    .sf-menu ul,
    .sf-menu li:hover ul,
    .sf-menu li.sfHover ul {
    width:120px;
    }
    .sf-menu a {
    padding: 10px 30px;
    }

    Wow, that has totally sorted the issue out!

    What can I say but thank you and I will be purchasing the Pro version as soon as I have the basic layout sorted. You can’t be expected to provide this sort of quality site and back-up for free; it’s just not fair but so many people do expect the internet to be free, but it’s not.

    Thank you again. If I have to come back with any more queries bare with me, but I’m really excited about using the theme eventually in my new venture. Regards Iain aka Verssimus Consultancy

    Hi there, I was just reading through this post. I seem to possibly have a similar issue. I use to have several menus through my Navigation Bar at the top, but now it only allows me to click on the Home, Privacy, and Contact Us Tab. Kadence Themes, you seem to know a lot about this stuff. Do you have any idea what could be the cause. I have tried going in and setting the menus up in the dashboard, but nothing is working. In the appearance –> Menue section, it shows that all of my menus are there, but they are not there on the actual site.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
