  • Your theme’s CSS should be handling this. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

It’s an Elegant Themes theme; I’ve used several of them.

Where there used to be a space to add border or padding, there is none.

Existing theme media seems to be unaffected, but with new media it’s not working.

I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.

All I’m asking is where a function of basic WordPress went with the new upgrade.

And you do support commercial themes. I’ll post this in the Harmony theme forum and get my answer there.

    you do support commercial themes

The www.remarpro.com support forums are meant for the core application, themes and plugins that are distributed on www.remarpro.com. We do not support themes downloaded from elsewhere.

Very well. The theme Twenty Fourteen, for instance, doesn’t have any capability to add padding, links or borders either.

Is this a permanent change to the WordPress core application, regardless of where the theme comes from?

There are a lot of things to wrangle in WordPress – supported themes or commercial. Having to dive into CSS with every image added to a post or page shouldn’t be one of them.

Is this a permanent change to the WordPress core application, regardless of where the theme comes from?

Yes, and now that it’s not in core it should be up to theme authors as it really is related to the theme. Themes style everything else but for some reason some themes don’t style images? Fortunately some nice people have developed plugins that help you style images if you’re not into CSS.

What solution are you looking for? Any code answers will be theme-specific.

Thanks for the clarification. I’m into CSS, but not over and over and over again.

Thanks, I’ll be looking for those plugins!
