Display user EOT on sidebar or page

I want to display the users EOT date in the side bar, their profile, or some place where it is easily visible. I’ve read a few things about adding a line to api-functions, however, it breaks the site every time I try to modify it. NOT a php programmer, but can hack around enough to be dangerous.
Is there a line of code I can include or preferably a shortcode I can insert so this information can be easily seen?
