I’m using 3.95 of the plugin, and on clicking the checkout button, the dreaded 500 error is produced.

The URL it’s attempting to access is:
    https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr

Things I have/haven’t done about this:
    – haven’t modified the plugin
    – uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin
    – have made a really simple test checkout
    – made sure that the client’s email really is connected to a PayPal account
    – have checked PHP file permissions and notice that everything is 644.
    – have error logs turned on but I can’t find anything to do with the cart

I get the same issue every time.

Please help? Is there anything else I can check in the code or the configuration? It’s such an awesome plugin and I am so so so so close to having a working store!

Hi oxygensmith, can you provide a URL with the shopping cart so that I can check for you.

    Thank you

Apologies for the inconvenience of my post. It’s solved.

It was my client’s PayPal account.

First thing to try next time: make sure that the account actually uses the email the client provides you with (ie. have or create a PayPal merchant account of your own, then try swapping in your email address if there’s any weird errors).

Thanks for the reply / offer to help, though. ??
