Just set up a new site – my first using WP 3.9.

Theme: Weaver II (active, and no other themes installed)

Plugins: Simple Lightbox, Weaver II Theme Extras (both active, no other plugins installed)

I’ve used SLB with the Weaver theme on several other sites.

The lightbox just isn’t working. Images are set up to link to media file (as I normally do), and I’m just getting plain JPEGs come up (like the other person who posted). It’s not trying to display the lightbox at all.

Site is https://www.rjeplumbing.co.uk although I’ve now changed the gallery to link to attachment pages, until I can get the lightbox issue resolved.

As I said, SLB works on a site running the Weaver II theme on WP 3.8.2.

UPDATE: I unticked “Start slideshow automatically” and it started working.

Hi, does re-enabling the “Start Slideshow Automatically” cause SLB to stop working now that it is working?

SLB has been tested extensively with WordPress 3.9. Also, enabling or disabling the “Start Slideshow Automatically” option should not cause SLB to stop working.

    Hi Archetyped,

    You’re right – must have been a coincedence as re-enabling auto-slideshow didn’t break it. ??

Not sure what was going on. It wasn’t working and then it started working.

I did just test the site in IE and SLB wasn’t working for the first few pictures I clicked on, and then it started working (and worked for all pictures). Almost as if it took 30 seconds after landing on the site for it to load? Not a big deal though and it was fine in Firefox. ??

Thanks for the excellent plugin – I’ve used it on several sites now and it’s the best lightbox plugin I’ve found for browser and mobile compatibility. ??

It sounds like it may have been related to the browser’s cache. It’s always a good idea to clear your browser’s cache after updating WordPress (core, theme, plugins, etc.) to make sure that no outdated code is being loaded by the browser’s cache.

Also, the page does need to fully loaded for SLB to function, so if a user clicks on an image before the page fully loads, the browser will handle the image loading, not SLB. The galleries on the site that you provided do have a lot of images, so it may take some time to load the page depending on your connection speed.
