Don't Show Ads to crawler bots

  • I have a content site and monetize it through Impression Banner Advertising or CPM advertising. Banner Ad Inventory will be grabbed through networks like Appnexus.

    There are many crawler bots that help index sites. How do I make sure not to show ads to a crawler bot? I would not want a big brand like Pepsi to pay me for showing a banner ad to a google bot that is indexing my site or any other bot for indexing purposes.

    Is this something that I can do through wordpress? Is this something that I need to download? Something that I need to do through my Host, Godaddy?

    Or, is this something that Appnexus will be able to see and will not serve ads to a bot that is crawling my site to index it? Thank you,

  • I think you add in the command
    rel=”nofollow”
    inside the img bit of the code,
    but don’t follow me blidnly as Im no expert at all.
