At witts end!!! Removing Search Box more

Hello… I have been at this for days now and i am beyond frustrated. Hopefully someone here can help me out? Thank you SO MUCH in advance.

My theme is the Cubby theme.

I activated the static homepage because I do not want a blog.

So… activating the static page creates the ugly dark grey bar that has the “home>>news” and the annoying search box right below my logo and navigation. I want these (and the grey bar) GONE so it goes from the logo & navigation header right to the slideshow. Ps…the search box is not a widgit.

If I set the front page to “my latest posts” instead of static page… that ugly grey bar would not be there (which is good!) but I don’t want a blog so I have to set it as static.

So what I have been trying to do for DAYS now is trying to remove that bar that holds the secondary menu and the search box.

Is there a way to do this? Please if you know and could help me out i’d forever be grateful! Ive been at this for days and visited countless sites and I can’t find anything on this.
