  • I’M guessing something went wrong with the installation process on your website. If you cannot connect to your wp-admin page, I would consider disabling plugins in your File Manager which is found on Cpanel on your hosting provider. To disable plugins from Cpanel go to File Manager then go to wp-included click on make new folder call it plugins_ext. Move your plugins into that folder. Reload wp-admin if that doesnt work you have to manually instal version 3.9 of wordpress, and there are a lot of helpful Youtube videos that will help you with that.

I have recovered my site admin by replacing the whole directory with a recent backup. A message came up to say the database had changed. I then just clicked update button.. and all is back . Don’t know where this leaves me though. This could mean I will never be able to update wp again, knowing that if i did it will break my site. Is this the beginning of the end of my wordpress site. I’m worried…

No Bzerka. Before you update wordpress it is always good to perform a backup so that if soemthing does go wrong it can be easily restored without losing all your hard work. If you do not feel comfortable auto-installing wordpress, you can always do it manually using as I said before your Cpanel and accessing File Manager. It’s not the end; it’s only the beginning.
