    Hi…
This is the error I’m getting after WP upgrade:

    **********************
Unable to create user depot directory Ask your administrator to give you more rights, or create D:/Hosting/2408782/html/wordpress/D:\Hosting\2408782\html\wordpress/wp-content/wppa-depot/timleethree manually using an FTP program.

    Sourcepath set to D:/Hosting/2408782/html/wordpress/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wppa-source

    Unexpected error: Missing directory: D:/Hosting/2408782/html/wordpress/D:\Hosting\2408782\html\wordpress/wp-content/wppa-depot/timleethree
    ***********************

I have 2 WPPA+ slideshows set up on a page (https://timleethree.com/discography/). The second of the two appears to be working.

I looked at my wordpress folder via FTP and followed the string given in the error message and the folder the error appears to be asking for does exist, so I’m kinda at a loss.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Susan

  • I have the same problem.
The message says “Unable to create user depot directory Ask your administrator to give you more rights, or create C:/WEB/site-name/C:\WEB\site-name</wp-content/wppa-depot/tomasz manually using an FTP program.”.

Should be fixed in 5.3.1 to be released today, please update when available and test again.

    I installed 5.3.1.
    Did not help.
    Still the same message.

Thanks, Jacob. I installed the 5.3.1 update, and both the slide shows on the page, referenced in my original message, seem to be working.

Unfortunately, I’m still getting that error message at my WP dashboard and the WPPA photo albums admin page.

I have logged out, cleared cache, quit browser, started browser back up, cleared cache again, and logged back into WP admin and still get the error message.

    Thanks for your help.

    Change any setting, and back.

    Or if that doesn’t help:

Install plugin Tweak Option, find tweak option under the tools menu, and delete the options wppa_chached_options and wppa_cached_options_admin.

I cannot change any setting: I get a pop-up message with the same message as before.
Deactivating and reactivating plugin does not help.
Where exactly can I find “wppa_chached_options”?

I can not delete using Tweak Options… Same error upon clicking delete button…..

@ thilsberg are you sure you are on 5.3.1 ?

wppa_chached_options is in the list when you open Tweak Option

@jacob I am having same issue… WordPress Version 3.9 and Plugin option 5.3.1.
Tried to reactivate plugin few times… when i try to delete wppa_Cached_Options it shows me same error……any help? can we edit this wppa_Cached_Options and leave it blank?….do u think it will work?

    yes, I am on 5.3.1.
i found wppa_cached_options, but i cannot delete them.
pop-up window containing “Unable to create user depot directory Ask your administrator to give you more rights, or create C:/WEB/site-name/C:\WEB\site-name</wp-content/wppa-depot/tomasz manually using an FTP program.” shows.

UPDATE: Making a setting change didn’t clear the problem so I downloaded and activated Tweak Options.

When I tried to delete wppa_cached_options it asked if i was sure, I said ok, I got the same error message as before, to which my only option was click ok.

I then tried to delete wppa_cached_options_admin and the same thing happened, but it actually deleted this one.

I then tried to go back and delete wppa_cached_options, got the same error message, and the file remains in the list, undeleted.

    The error message remains.

    Thanks for your help.

i deactivated the plugin and then was able to delete “wppa_cache_options”.
then i reactivated the plugin. i run my site on a windows server, using apache.
deletion of cache options did not help in my case.

@thillsbetg…. same here i was able to delete wppa_cache_options after deactivating plugin… however reactivating plugin brings back to same error…

I am having the same issue. Any update?
