Tablepress is a great plugin and I love it!

Recently I had a major problem with another plugin. It crashed my site and took over the dashboard. The only items viewable in the dashboard were just a few including table press. I could not edit any pages.

I had to edit the mysql database to remove the plugin from the backend. The site is up and working. I can now access the dashboard. Tablepress had to be reactivated and all the tables are fine but tablepress is not showing up in the dashboard. I cannot edit any tables. I am hoping there is simple fix.

    Here is the site:

    Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

My assumption here is that there’s something wrong with the access capabilities.
If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

just for everybody following this thread: I worked on this directly with jponton and we were able to restore the necessary access capabilities ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

    Hello,
The Table Press toolbar was obliterated when I updated to WP 3.9 this week. I uninstalled TablePress and then reinstalled and activated it, but the handy toolbar is still missing. TablePress is listed in the sidebar of the Dashboard menu.

Also, extra space is placed above and below text i add to existing table rows and I’m not able to remove it in the code. It appears there’s now default padding assigned to the rows that wasn’t there before. I assume I’ll have to go to the CSS to remove it.

I want my old TablePress toolbar! Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Can you please explain what the “TablePress toolbar” is for you? I don’t really understand…

And can you please post a link to the page with a table where that problem with the padding happens, so that I can take a direct look? Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

Sorry for bothering, but TablePress is also not showing up in the left menu (Dashboard) after I activated the plugin. Any hints/help would be much appreciated. What is strange is, that it works on my Ubuntu-PC (localhost) but not on the hoster-server.

    Hi,
You asked “what the TablePress tool bar is for you.”
It is the former toolbar that used to be below the other formatting toolbars in wordpress when editing posts or pages. It had handy icons for adding and editing new and existing tables and icons for adding and deleting rows and columns.
I updated to the latest 1.4 version today and still no tool bar. There is a toolbar above everything that appeared with the WP 3.9 update, but it is cumbersome and time consuming to use. I think it’s from WordPress. Or maybe that is the new TablePress toolbar! If it is please bring back the icon driven toolbar.

    Hi,

I’m still confused here. TablePress does not add a toolbar to the editor when you are editing posts and pages. It only adds a button there from which you can then select the desired table and it will add the Shortcode for you.
Or are you refering to the “Table Manipulation” section on this screenshot?: https://ps.w.org/tablepress/assets/screenshot-2.png?rev=821233

Just tried to replace Easy Table with your product. It does NOT show up in the dashboard upon installation. So, you have a problem with this product because it can’t be launched. Please fix, ASAP so I can begin to use it!

    Hi Ted,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

My assumption here is that something went wrong with adding the necessary access rights. If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. I give up. I can’t find your email address and you don’t know what toolbar I’m talking about. End discussion.

    Hi Ted,

    thanks for the account details!
I was able to log in and from what I can see, the menu entry simply did not show up because the menu is heavily customized on your site. I reset the TablePress menu integration, so that all “Administrators” should now see TablePress at the bottom of the menu.

    Regards,
    Tobias
