I am trying to add a verification to my Header like the website Share A Sale is asking me too.

This is what Share A Sale is telling me to do

Sign in to your WordPress account
    Navigate to your blog’s ‘Dashboard’ (<your domain>/wp-admin/)
    Select the ‘Appearance’ menu item
    Select the ‘Editor’ sub-menu item
Select the ‘Header (header.php)’ template from the ‘Templates’ listing on the right column.
In the editor, find the <head> tag
Add an HTML comment (see below) containing the code we have provided after the <head> tag and before the </head> tag.
    <!– CODE –>
When you are finished click the ‘Update File’ button below the editor
Click the ‘Verify Code’ button on this page.

This thing is I am using the Genius theme and there is no <head> tag only </head> And when I added the code before the </head> tag it shows up on my site.

so I added < before and > after the code and it took it off the site but isn’t verifying, & now i have no idea what to do! =/

  • I also have the same problem, is there anything that can help? I am using genesis child theme

Hi, i also had this problem within WordPress (OptimizePress) and Share A Sale. I used a plugin called “Header and Footer”.

When you activate the plugin (header and footer) you will find it under “appearance” – “Header and Footer”.

Enter the following code on “Code to be added on head section of every page“:

    <!–CODE–>
    <meta content=’1C0FF829-4DBF-4645-969C-CB462D67A168′ name=’google-site-verification’/>

Replace the code with your own 36 digit verification code from Share A Sale.. ??

Good luck. For me it works now, using the above.

    BEst, Bennie
