Rebuild Downloads after Migrating to New server

  • I just migrated to a new server and all of my Delightful Downloads folders made it over to the new sever via FTP upload. The only problem is that hey are not in the “Downloads->All Downloads” section of my new WP-Admin site that I migrated to. Not sure what I can do to rebuild the Downloads so that my new site recognizes whats already sitting on the server. Any ideas?

    Hi Matt,

    You will need to export the data from the previous site. You can use the WordPress exporter I believe which allows you to export custom post types. If the domain name or file structure for the new site is different in any way you will need to adjust the download paths once imported. This can be done on the Edit Download screen.

    Yeah already tried the WordPress exported and it didn’t work. Any other ideas?

    I have just tested the WordPress exporter on a test environment and everything works as it should. On the export screen does it list the Downloads and Download Logs post types?
