Hi. I use WordPress for a photoblog, and have the WP software installed on my root directory so that the photoblog is located at eyeflashes.com (as opposed to a sub-directory).

I recently found out that my hosting plan came with the option of a one-click install of the latest version of WordPress, so I thought I might move my regular blog over so that I could consolidate everything. I want this to be located at eyeflashes.com/blog.

However, when I did the one-click install, it was automatically added to my server as a WordPress folder on my root directory (eyeflashes.com/wordpress). I have tried changing the name of the folder, but it screws things up (the page is stripped of all formatting) and any link I press on it (i.e. “login”) defaults right back to eyeflashes.com.

What can I do to be able to access my blog as a sub-directory of my photoblog, when it’s been installed under a different sub-directory name?

(I’m only somewhat tech-literate, so if this can be explained in plain English, I’d REALLY appreciate it… lol.)

    Thanks!

    1. admin > Options > General:
    2. In the two URI values change “wordpress” to “blog”
    3. Click Update options
(you will get a 404 not found error but don’t worry)
    4. Do NOT try to see your blog in a browser.
    5. Repeat: do not try to open your blog in your browser
    6. via ftp rename the wordpress folder to blog
    7. Now you can see your blog ??
