works for 3.8.1 but not for WP Social Blogroll plugin widget

    To make it work, go to Appearances > Widgets and locate the widget you are interested in. Copy/paste the short code that is given there into your page/post.

    Works fine in WP 3.8.1

    BUT — if you have the WP Social Blogroll plugin (formerly Feed Reading Blogroll), and you have opted to display the Blogger style of output, it does not render the same way as it does for the widget.

    The widget displays the blog name, latest post title and how long ago it was posted.

    The short code displays only the blog name.

    Sigh.

    A workaround is to use the plugin “amr shortcode any widget” which allows you to use a shortcode in a page/post to execute a widget inside the page/post.
