Created Custom Template now Page style doesn't match TwentyFourteen Theme

I created a Page-of-Posts template to direct categories to a page. While the template is working, the page style is not like the rest of the theme!! I read on another forum to copy and paste the index.php OR page.php into the PageofPosts.php file – however, I am not certain which section to copy or where to paste. The theme I am using is Twenty Fourteen, the child theme is Awesome-2014.

Please help!
