Facebook Title and Description Wrong Before I Run URL Through FB Linter
-
I’m using Yoast SEO Plugin to specify my og:meta tags and everything looks good when I view source. If I paste a post URL into Facebook, before I run the URL through the Facebook Linter, my thumbnail image is not recognized, and the site title defaults to Culinary Backstreets: 2014 Archives. After I run the post URL (eg. https://www.culinarybackstreets.com/rio/2014/intihuasi/), or any URL through the linter, I get this error, but everything else is OK:
Provided og:image is not big enough. Please use an image that’s at least 200×200 px. Image ‘https://www.culinarybackstreets.com/wp-content/uploads/cb_og_default.jpg’ will be used instead.
The error, is in fact, not true, the og:image is always more than 200×200, but for some reason FB says it is not. If I run the same URL through the linter a second time, I don’t get any errors, and miraculously, the rest of the site seems to recognize Open Graph tags properly. Anyone have the same problem? Any ideas? I have read about odd sized post images, causing this problem, but that’s my best guess.
You may not see the error now, if you test it because it appears to be working after using the linter. I’m also using WP Super Cache. It seems when I clear the cache, I go back to getting FB title/desc errors.
