    About what?

Why it’s no longer supported. What other options are. Etc.

The main reason is that I am not believing in WordPress anymore, which finds its main cause in how I was treated as plugin author by the WordPress organization.

I don’t know about safe alternatives, maybe someone can else is willing to maintain this plugin.

I’m sorry to hear that was your experience. Almost all the plugins’ reviews (including mine) were five out of five stars. Sounds like a few others ruined it.

Your plugin have mostly 5 stars. It’s a pity. There are a couple more plugins doing the same, BUT this plugin of yours was the most robust PHP execution implementation.

How bad was you treated as plugin author by the WordPress organization?
Do you have a blog? Have you written about this? It’s interesting if you share your experience because sometimes it may help to improve this community. I bet nobody made you sign a confidenciality form, so feel free to express yourself and share. Please.

I am not going to write about this and just say goodbye. There have been enough opportunities for a discussion, but all were ignored.

ok, in the meantime, and if this makes you feel better, let me say your plugin was helpful to many users. Thanks!

I am also sorry to hear that support for this plug-in will end. To emphasize the point of the other posters, I always found it to be very useful.

Best. Plugin. Ever. So sad… Marcel, what if we throw a little WordPress meetup here in Portland, OR have some cupcakes, some punch, maybe sell some lottery tickets give you the proceeds. Think that’s get you back in the game? My co-worker said she’ll rub your feet!

hahaha maybe the WordCamps should feature feet rubbing. That will attract a lot of developers to the WP world hahaha

    Mr. Pedra,

I have tried out this plugin recently and have been very happy with it.
I have yet had time to write a review of it.
Thank you for the hard work you have dedicated to the WordPress Community.

I am sorry to hear of your unpleasant experience with the WordPress team or organization. I think this happens in many open-source projects. But I am new to WordPress and I know very little about the community.
Only about a handful of really awesome themes and plugins.

Thank you again for your help. I hope something changes for the better soon. I hope this is not the last we hear of you.

    All the best!

@ryantate13 thanks for the gesture, but the plugin was not there for the money, but for the idea, in which I don’t believe anymore.

    Marcel,
I don’t know what happened, but consider these thoughts from an old man with many hundreds of disheartening events over a life time. Whatever changed your mind seems to have happened within the past few days. Maybe you need more time to let it fade away.

The perspective I see here is that you have many many very satisfied people using your work. I too am among them. Your plugin is first rate. I was just this morning debugging a problem with one of the pages using your plugin. (It was my own coding error, not yours.) And I noticed subtle little things, like the plugin telling the $content value of the most recent use. That’s well beyond what was expected and was helpful in debugging too.

Give it some time. Come back in a little while and re-weigh the feedback you see here. I’m almost certain the positives will outnumber, and eventually override the sour feeling you have from whatever turned you away.

@bobeaston my mind changed already quite some time ago and I already made most of my other plugins unsupported a year or so ago. Shortcode Exec PHP needs maintenance for the next WordPress version, because the TinyMCE integration will not work anymore (all the core features will keep working, however), and I don’t want to put time into the plugin anymore. This is the reason I have made this plugin unsupported too now. Don’t count on changing my mind, I see no reason for that.

Except for the treatment by the WordPress organization, only 0.05% of the downloaders took the effort to rate this plugin and exactly 10 of 200,000 downloaders left a short review and some only to complain about something. Despite that I have maintained this plugin for four years.
