I need to export tables from a TablePress installation to another TablePress installation (two different WordPress installations). I can export tables in three formats (CSV, HTML, JSON). Does it matter what format I choose to be able to easily export and then import in TablePress?

I also wonder which format is recommended that I save in for backup.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

If you want to export and re-import to TablePress, the best format will be the JSON format, as that contains the meta information (name, description, state of checkboxes) as well. The other formats only contain the table data.

For backups that you can reuse in other ways, the CSV format is good, as you can e.g. open those files in Excel as well.

    Thank you Tobias!

It worked well to export and import the tables in TablePress with JSON.

Regarding backup in CSV, what should I choose for CSV Delimiter?

    Hi,

no problem, you are very welcome! ?? Good to hear that this helped!

The CSV delimiter doesn’t really matter, but I think Excel prefers the comma on English installations.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
