How do I insert HTML code into the sidebar on wordpress? I am using the hosted version, not downloaded onto my own server, so I cant use theme editor.

Anyone have any ideas? I just want to stick in some buttons and tracking HTML.

    Thanks in advance,

    Geoff

If you mean on a wordpress.com blog, then go to Presentation->Sidebar Widgets. Drag a Text widget into your sidebar, then edit it and add your HTML there.

I am trying to run a text ad box, and it uses javascript. When I try to put it in a text box, it deletes most of the code.

Please, if you have a “hosted” blog at wordpress.COM – they have their own support forum:

… and, unless things have changed recently, I don’t believe that ads are allowed on a wp.com hosted blog …

Well, then you should have mentioned javascript in your original question. Instead you asked about HTML, didn’t you?

    HTML will work.
    Javascript is not HTML.
