Adding categories not working from within new post page

  • I’ll post again since I can’t find answer and no one replied to my last post.

    For some reason, all of a sudden, when creating a new post…. the little box in the catogory section to add new categories has disappeared. I can still choose categories that are in the list by placing a checkmark next to them, and can still add new categories from the category section in the admin panel, but cant add new ones when making a post… the box has completely disappeared.

    can anyone help me please?

  • Having the same problem. And, what is strange is that my other WP blog works fine. That one is running WP 2.0 and the one thats having problems is running the new version 2.1 !!

    All assistance appreciated.

    The new (read: latest) and safe version is 2.1.3.

    I’m setting up a few different blogs and just ran into this issue with one of them. All are using v2.1.3 and the problem one was working fine and all the sudden it stopped letting me add categories from the new post or manage post pages. The other blogs work just fine. I’ve tried with different user accounts and it’s the same, even with my admin account.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I’m having the same problem. It’s extremely irritating. I’m on 2.1 Seems a few of my installations have this problem and others do not. All the same code, btw.
