• NextGen Version 2.0.59
    WordPress 3.8.1
Device: Phone or other small screen.
When users are using are displaying a single image from a gallery via the lightbox effect “lightbox” images are very skewed. The theme I’m using is responsive. The images when displayed with the lightbox have a responsive width, but not height. How can I achieve this? I have @media declarations in the css.

@ajcke – Unfortunately the “Lightbox” Lightbox Effect is not really responsive in terms of the current ideas behind responsive web design. We are reviewing if there are any other standard libraries we can replace it with or worst case we will simply note that it is not considered “responsive” in a future release.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

What is the best way to handle this so that I have a standard consistent way for users/devices to display a larger image and/or full screen image? Could I modify or adjust any of the NextGen settings or try a different plugin? I love nextgen and so do my clients and we haven’t found anything to compare.

@ajcke – Part of the reason we developed the NextGEN Pro Lightbox was to help with “responsive” displays … of the basic bundled standard Lightbox effects libraries you will have to decide which suits your needs best as each has its own issues depending on how you view responsive and the needs of the site itself.
