    Hi, this is a very useful plugin! It can be used to make FAQ’s and publish books as well. If you allow me, here are some things that might it even better. (Note that some of these might already be in it).

    Topbar/menu:
    – option to choose more levels/dropdown, so you can go to the correct page/doc in one go without having to go back/through a submenu page.
    – Option to easily ass custom CSS or choose font size, colours, background etc.

    General:
    – Option to order docs and categories on date or alphabetical.
    – Drag and drop ordering of categories and docs. SO much easier than assigning ID’s.
    – Custom CSS: choose width, font etc.
    – Can you choose the main slug, so FAQ or Books in stead of ‘Docs’?
    – Can you have two main entries, so for example: FAQ and Books?

    Docs pages:
    – Option to remove ‘print’ button/function
    – At the bottom of the docs: automatic links to previous / next docs with name of page as link (not just < & >).

    Side bar menu:
    – Option to show only categories, so not all docs/pages. If you have a lot of subpages, the menu will be too long. It will be better to have a little arrow or such to click and open/close only the (child) category.

    Actually, this could also be implemented in the high-level docs page (https://smartestthemes.com/organized-docs-wordpress-plugin/docs/), so you do not have to click to another page first, but just ‘open’ the sub cats/ children.

    Let me know if you want me to test some stuff out, but thanks anyway for considering the above for future updates.

    Thanks for your feedback and great details. I really like these suggestions and have added them as issues to work on.

    One of these was just added today in version 1.2.0:

    Docs pages:
    – Option to remove ‘print’ button/function

    The navigation feature at the bottom of the docs will be added in version 1.2.1 (will be available sometime within 2 weeks). I will tackle as many of these other features as I can for this release.

    For the rest, I’ll work on as I get time, and I’ll update this thread as the features are added.

    Regarding FAQ pages, this is one of my favorite plugins:

    Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress

    It works well and it’s fairly easy to set up.

    Thank you for considering the wishlist and for the FAQ suggestion!
    I quite like it, especially because it creates permalinks.

    Looking forward to trying your new version(s) for some documentation.

    I just tried to activate the 1.2.2 version on a new/empty install (no plugins, standard theme):

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare twentyfourteen_post_nav() (previously declared in /home/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/inc/template-tags.php:75) in /home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/organized-docs/includes/custom.php on line 32

    ps: the same happens when using the 2013 theme, but with the 2012 theme it activates.

    Also, in the settings I checked the no comments options, but still all docs created allow comments by default.

    I’m sorry for the problems with version 1.2.2. Version 2.0 has been released and it fixes those issues.

    Please note: 2.0 has many changes. Please read the changelog (section 2.0) for details.

    Some new features added in version 2.0:

    • Option to order single docs on date, alphabetical, or by custom number.
    • Option to order descending or ascending.
    • Option to replace the main slug, which by default is “docs”.
    • Option to show only categories (subheadings), rather than list each single title on the top level item page, and also on the Table of Contents sidebar.
    • On the bottom of single docs, navigation links to previous / next docs with name of page as link (not just < & >).

    To Automatically Disable Comments on All Docs

    It involves 2 options:

    1. In Docs -> Settings, check “Enable Comments Control”.
    2. For “Disable Comments on Single Docs?”, select “yes”.
    3. Click “Save Changes”.

    Version 2.0.4 adds these 2 new options:

    • option to “toggle”, “list all”, or “hide” the list of individual Docs articles on the top-level category pages.
    • option to “toggle”, “list all”, or “hide” the list of individual Docs articles in the Table of Contents widget.
