Writing competition website

Hello,

I have just installed wordpress and dont know where to begin. My website is a writing competition website where users will login with facebook preferrably and write little entry and enter. Everyone will read it and press like and unlike button which will be helpfull in filtering the winning entry. The entries should be categorized monthly, filtered by likes and the date inputed.
I dont know whether wordpress will do such thing, and dont know where to start, please, help me. Thanks
