All of my events appear correctly by default with no category filter applied. However, if I apply a category, the events without a location do not appear (even though they appeared when no category filter was applied).

See https://gcfunstuff.com/dates/. Filter by Registration Deadline and these two events on April 1, 2014 (no joke!) are missing:

? Garden City Recreation Sports Squirts Registration Deadline*
    ? St. Anne’s CYO Track Registration Deadline: Grades K – 8

    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Are you using a shortcode to generate that listing? If so, can you post it here?

    No. Just regular functionality.

Do you have the same problem if Events page grouping under Events > Settings > Formatting > Events is set to None?

Yes, same problem. I changed the setting to None so you can see for yourself.

I’m still seeing date grouping: March 16, 2014 – March 22, 2014, March 23, 2014 – March 29, 2014, etc. Are you using any custom templates for that page?

Hi. I was doing some testing and just turned off the grouping again for you to see. I was using a custom template but just switched it to “Default Template” and the problem still occurs.

Additionally, if one applies a category filter and then goes back to All Categories, the events without a location don’t appear there either.

Is it just a problem with the one category you mentioned? Because when I filter by the category Start Date, I’m seeing some events listed.

Is there any pattern you can see between events that are listed correctly and ones that aren’t?

No, it is a problem with Start Date, too. See the April 5 entries for Garden City Centennial Soccer Club Opening Day and GCAA Baseball/Softball Opening Day (both of which don’t have locations). They both appear under All Categories but disappear when Start Date is selected (and remain missing when switching back to All Categories).

In fact, it does not appear to be a problem with any particular category. Whenever I select one, the events without a location disappear. So IMHO, something is lost when the Category filter is used.

Wow, I saw one of your other posts from a few hours ago and I think I’ve fixed it based on that. Default Country needs to be set to “no default country” in order for events without locations to appear. Thanks for your help!

No worries – wish I’d thought of that earlier ??
