online store with customer log in and shopping basket linking to payment

  • hey, so i just got a client.
    i decided upon the theme catch everest.
    the site url is yorkfairyshop.com

    they basically want a site where you can go on add items from a category to the shopping basket, access the shopping basket and proceed to payment options.

    I have done this before.. before i started using wordpress as my CMS, i used php to make each page for me from data i put in the database.

    my question is what is the best way to have an online shop type site (ecommerce) using wordpress. baring in mind security through payment, having each individual customer separate log ins, a shopping basket thats modifiable (add, remove, total..)?

    Hi the problem that i am having is my site is that when it time to make payment, it just refreshes on the checkout page . it does go to the paypal page for my customers to complete transaction. the designer said it all linked and all the plugin ase configurated so is API.

    But it still does not work
