My client’s website has been working until last Friday when it suddenly got error messages during checkout. I escalated to Paypal and received this response:

I have visited your client’s website and tried to make a test payment but I received the same error message. I can see that your website is passing a blank “state” variable to PayPal and this is why our address validation fails. You are also passing “address_override=1” variable to PayPal, which means that PayPal must receive valid address details (matching ZIP/city/state details) from your website. We can’t provide support for third-party shopping cart providers such as WordPress so I would suggest contacting them directly to determine why your website is passing a blank “state” variable. There might be a setting or a file that needs to be configured.

There were no changes made at the time the error started and I’m not sure where to go to check the Address_override=1 variable…

    HELP! Client’s website is ATouchofWhimseys.com

I’m using the most current version of WordPress 3.8.1 and the latest version of eCommerce plug in 3.8.13.3.

I fixed this by finding the line of code in the WP eCommerce PHP file that had the address_override=1 and changing the 1 to a zero.

Weird. No idea how it got changed to a 1 to begin with!
