Mysql Database lose password and username

    I have lost my database password and username. can anyone help me to recover username and password? I have access to FTP but no access to phpmyadmin.

    Your database name, username and password are listed in your wp-config.php file indeed. Open it in a text editor and you should be able to see it.

    Senff actually i wanna take backup of my database before update to new version 3.8.1. I am new to wordpress how i will update my version?
    sorry the topic is not related but the question is necessary for me before going to update.

    There are plenty of plugins you can install that will allow you to backup your database.
