Sharing links not showing as connected with Social sites

    Hi,

    I love the simplicity of Jetpack sharing, but on my site the plugin doesn’t seem to be correctly ‘connecting’ my site to the social media platforms selected.

    For example, I have my facebook page added but SEO tools show the site as not having any facebook posts or tweets – even though I many posts and tweets have been published through the sharing plugin.

    Can you fix this?

    Hi,
    I don’t quite understand your problem. Anyway, please keep in mind that Jetpack Sharing is not intended to add special markup to your site, so it becomes connected to social media platforms.
    However, it adds sharing buttons to your site, so your visitors can very easily share your pages on social media platforms.

    You’re probably looking for Open Graph and Google Authorship features, which are not provided by Jetpack Sharing.

    Sorry, let me clarify.

    the jetpack sharing plugin does not appear to correctly reflect “shares” on Facebook or twitter. I’m guessing this is because the plugin doesn’t use specific APIs from Facebook / Twitter.

    Here’s an example:

    https://www.kstargroup.co.uk/advisory/using-voice-customer-prioritise-change/ uses the Jetpack sharing plugin and has 1 facebook share using it

    But the shares do not appear to be reflected in facebook:

    https://www.woorank.com/en/www/kstargroup.co.uk

    (scroll down to “social” results within the woorank page)

    I see.
    Check this out.
    They actually have one share on Facebook, for the whole link, not just the base domain name.
    See the stats for the base domain name here.
    That’s why it’s not showing on Woorank page. They don’t have shares for their base domain name: kstargroup.co.uk
