Dropcap's = Spaces?

On the latest version (I think), I am having a problem in which when I use [dropcap] in my article, it misses out that letter in the exert made for the descriptions?

Anyway to prevent this and get my letter back?

Also, this is related, could there be a space added between headers (<h2> for example) in the description too?
