Hueman Slider

  • Hello. LOVE this theme but I have tried over and over again to get my slider to independently function and it just wont move.If I manually move it, it will move but it wont scroll on its own. I have read every post on here and none of these solutions are working for me. I dont know much about coding. Now of course I have gone to theme options, blog, etc to work the slider. I have tried unplugging plug ins and re-activating them as per one solution given by an admin. Ive moved blog pages around, tried static pages, etc…everything. I have tried every solution given and I have no luck. Perhaps I am overlooking something? Please help. Thank you in advance.

  • Hi, glad to hear!

    The slider isn’t automatic by default, but requires a click to move to the next story.

    To change this, edit /inc/featured.php with a child theme and modify:

    slideshow: false,

    To:

    slideshow: true,

    And there you go!

    FIrst thank you for solving the mystery that the slider isnt automatic!!! I had no idea. On the theme demo it’s sliding so I was expecting mine to do the same thing. Now my next question, is this code?
    (edit /inc/featured.php with a child theme and modify}
    because I dont know anything about coding or what a child theme is. If I can find out what that is, I can handle changing it from false to true. Thanks

    nevermind I found a video on youtube so thanks for the info. After I get my child theme set up I will use what you told me and hope it works. Thanks:)

    You can download a sample hueman child theme from the help dropdown in Theme Options. Once installed, activate it. Then add a folder called /inc/ in the child theme, and copy over the featured.php file there. Then make your edits to it there, and they will be used.

    Theme Options > Blog > Featured Post Count to more than 1 and it should run automatically, if you’ve set slideshow to true and don’t hover with the mouse over it, as then it will pause.

    thank you it’s work, but the slider does not change automatically and must use the mouse.

    And you did the code change to /inc/featured.php to slideshow: true? If so make sure your child theme is properly activated and that the featured.php file is placed in the inc folder of the child theme.
