• I am a newbie and learning to create blog using wordpress. I am using MAMP and my website is hosted locally as of now. I had everything ready and everything was okay few weeks ago. I have the admin log in age bookmarked so today when I tried logging in, I am getting an error message. It says “Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to localhost:8888” I have started my MAMP and everything looks fine but somehow I can’t open the page locally today. Does anyone know why it could be doing that?

I tried using different browser and I get the same message in Firefox as well as Safari.

  • It is not a wordpress issue, but seems to be a MAMP issue.

MAMP seems to be not started.

You may get better response from MAMP forum
