Retina Thumbnail Images?

    Just wondering if there’s anyway to get thumbnails to display in Retina. I have some other widgets and things on the website displaying thumbnails at 50px x 50px and they all pull the image from the posts featured image. All of the featured images are Retina and seem to display fine as Retina thumbnails across the site, with the exception of Popular Posts where images appear at normal resolution. I’ve entered the same dimensions in the widget so not sure why it’s not displaying at higher resolution, anything I can do?

    Maybe the images are just blurry, I’ve read some posts on here and it seems others have had a similar issue. I’ve set the width and height of the thumbnails to 50px in the widget but compared to all the other thumbnails of my site they appear blurred, it’s as though they’re still trying to show at 15px but have been blown up to 50px maybe.

    Anyway to correct this?
