How do I set up cropped posts on main blog page?

  • What do I need to do to get all my posts to appear cropped to the first 345-to-365 words ending with […] on my main blog page, as they already do on the monthly pages? I have not been able to figure out how to accomplish this.

    Would this be recommended for my blog?

  • if you look at your template’s archive.php file, you’ll probably see that it is using the_excerpt in The_Loop. That’s what does the “cropping”.

    If you want that also on your main page, try editing your theme’s index.php and replacing the_content with the_excerpt.
