"Error establishing a database connection" Since update

    I get the message “Error establishing a database connection” when attempting to access my clients website, which has been on their server for 4 months. I have not accessed the site since December ’13. I attempted to get on the dashboard but it would time out. I then updated WP on my pc; upon doing so the aforementioned phrase showed up on the front and back end. NO access at all. I do not have access the the new server either. How can my update affect the site on a different server any way? Ideas??

    Try checking the database details with the server’s hosts.
