excerpt="yes" badly broken in 0.46 and 0.46.1

Excerpt displays fine using short code on pages, but not displaying at all in the list-category-widget. WP 3.8.1, using plugin version 0.46.1.

Fixed – problem tracked to another plugin which had added its own ‘the_excerpt’ filter, resulting in complete corruption of the real excerpt.

@offsocks the offending plugin was ‘genealogy’ which adds its own ‘the_excerpt’ filter that replaces the excerpt text with something completely different without any regard to the category of the post. It seems to me that it should only act on the ‘genealogy’ category, but it doesn’t.
