    Hi Maeve,

I wondering whether it is possible to have the aspect ratios of the images used in the plugin (thumbnails, product and catalog images) be variable and based on the aspect ratio of the original photo. E.g. a photo in portrait orientation would generate a portrait aspect ratio thumbnail in the catalog and another photo in landscape orientation would be represented as a thumbnail in landscape right next to it.

    Thanks,

    Klaus

    Hello,

No answer on this topic ? I have exactly the same question. Almost all my thumbnails are portrait, and I didn’t find the correct setting to make them appear properly …

    Thanks a lot,

    Séverine

No sorry, it is not smart enough to adjust the large images proportionally. You need to set thumb size and large image size in the Settings and stick with it for all your images.

You can kind of cheat a little with this…. set the images as square – lets say 500x500px then use your image editor to create your images within that 500×500 frame. If they are landscape then there would be a margin at the top and bottom. If they are portrait you have a margin to the left and right. From the front end the user will just see your nicely sized images.
