    Hi,

First of all thank you for creating of such plugin, I’ve been working with soccer statistics websites in wordpress for a while and still there is no perfect solution but your work looks promising ??

I would just add two ideas:

    1) For simplification > Maybe I didn’t notice, but I cannot find a way to set up whole season fixture at one go, lets say you have to set up whole season, do you have to input every game as event manually? It would help to have something like that at the moment of season creation > to choose number of match days, default venues for each team, default start hour etc.

    2) Just a small thing, but would it be possible to display club logos somewhere in the league standings and upcoming events widgets? It looks nice with logos and photos from the admin perspective but I cannot find option to display them on my main page after publication

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thank you for checking out SportsPress!

We’re actively developing this plugin and look forward to continue improving it via feedback from users ??

    1) We’re working on an import tool for fixtures (i.e. events) and will also be adding a “bulk create” tool.

    2) The next major update will have settings to enable displaying club logos in standings. We’re also adding some new widgets soon, which will display event schedules and results.

I’ll let you know when either feature becomes available. Thanks again for your feedback, and please feel free to let us know if you have any more suggestions!

I realize this is a beta, but thought I’d toss out the request for some introductory documentation. Your work so far is coming along nicely. Since I’m searching for a resource to create a site for a high school baseball team, and would love to utilize your plugin, is there a timeline for alpha?

Regarding the Teams module when setting up a new Event…

It would be helpful to automatically activate the entire roster, and allow the user to uncheck certain players, especially on teams with large rosters. That would be a time saver. It might even make more sense to selected the teams in the Teams module, then have the active player checkboxes next to the numbers in the Players module. Same with having a Staff module with the same functionality.

BTW, it would sound better to change “substitutes” to “bench” in the baseball template.

    Keep up the good work!

I’d like to suggest the following as well:
    – an option to limit the number of rows for the league table widget, with a text link to the full league table
    – season fixture & results, for the entire league and for individual teams as well
    – ability to edit columns for various leagues/player stats, i.e. Include assists, rebounds for one league and not for the other
    – shortcodes (a definite must)

I’ve been keenly following the development of this plugin. I truly get the feeling that this could surpass any sports plugin out there. Keep at it guys!

    • Introductory documentation: We’re putting together a Getting Started guide, in-depth modules, and video tutorials to release shortly.
    • Selecting players in a new event: Great idea. We’ll be adding a “Select All” checkbox at the top of each team’s list of players. We’re also changing the Players section to display event highlights instead, so that you can choose the time that each statistic (goal/run/foul/point/etc) occurred. This leads to a “highlights timeline” that we’ll soon be adding to event pages.
    • Changing “substitutes” to “bench” in baseball: A more detailed settings page is coming soon, which will enable changing certain words in the template to match the sport.

    • League table widget: Sounds good! We’ll be adding options to limit the number of rows, highlight a particular team, and display a text link to the full table in the footer.
    • Season fixtures & results: Definitely. New widgets coming soon!
    • Edit statistics columns for various leagues: Interesting idea! Since column labels are post types and leagues/seasons/positions are taxonomies, this would actually work quite well. We’ll consider adding more taxonomy options to columns.
    • Shortcodes: We agree! Shortcodes are coming soon ??

We’re aiming to officially release by the end of March, but of course will continue to actively develop the beta version until then. Thanks again for all the feedback!
