facebook meta description

Hi folks.
I’ve noticed that when sharing a Facebook post from within my site, FB successfully pulls the WordPress SEO (Yoast) meta description.
However within FB, if I copy the post specific URL – E.g
https://magicfromthemachine.com/enter-the-labyrinth-with-david-bowie-francis-bacon-and-dali/
…and paste it into a status update – it just seems to retrieve an early paragraph from with the post as the meta description, rather than the one allocated within WordPress SEO (Yoast) … Any help in resolving this would be much appreciated. I understand Facebook uses open graphs but there seems no reason why it’s not working.
